What this is
A daily-use cleansing + brightening ubtan that replaces commercial soap. Built on the Varnya Mahakashaya core (Chandana + Manjishtha + Yashtimadhu) + the Eladi-gana aroma + Triphala for antioxidants + Saffron for the pigment hero.
For a 100 g batch, combine the above active herbs (31 g total) with:
- 50 g chickpea flour (besan) — the substrate
- 15 g ground oats — gentle exfoliation
- 3 g rose petal powder — fragrance
Total = 99 g + 1 strand saffron.
Why use this instead of soap
- pH ~5-6 (skin-friendly) vs. soap pH 9-10 (alkaline, strips barrier)
- No surfactants — cleans by mild physical scrub + saponins from herbs
- Active brightening compounds (glabridin, anthraquinones) delivered at every wash
- Aroma is the herbs themselves; no synthetic fragrance
How to scale
For commercial production: 100 g pouch, ~30 servings. Consumer mixes 1 Tbsp + chosen liquid per use. Shelf life 6 months in glass jar; longer in vacuum-sealed pouches.
