A small hospital, doing the work properly

AyurDarshan is an Ayurvedic hospital and Panchakarma centre at Ayancheri Road, Thiruvallur, Kerala. We run outpatient consultations and a residential treatment unit for those undergoing the longer classical protocols. The hospital is family-run; the practitioners are qualified vaidyas.

The relationship to Maithra is straightforward. Maithra grew out of the hospital pharmacy — the formulations we made for patients who wanted to take their treatment home. The hospital came first; the product line is its home-care arm.

What we treat

  • Skin & cosmetic Ayurveda — hyperpigmentation (Vyanga), persistent acne, psoriasis-pattern conditions, post-inflammatory pigmentation, dull or uneven skin. See full list of concerns →
  • Hair & scalp — Khalitya (hair fall), Palitya (greying), Darunaka (dandruff), telogen effluvium, postpartum hair loss.
  • Joint & orthopaedic — Ama-vata, osteoarthritis, back pain, frozen shoulder — classical Snehana-Swedana protocols.
  • Postnatal care — our specialised Soothika-paricharya programmes (14, 21, 28, 35, and 42 days), with abhyanga, ushna-jala snana, dietary protocol, and herbal preparations.
  • Lifestyle & Panchakarma — Virechana, Vamana, Basti, Nasya, Raktamokshana — full classical protocols supervised by a vaidya.

How we differ from a typical wellness retreat

We are a hospital, not a spa. That distinction matters. Treatment is prescribed by a qualified vaidya after consultation, with documented case notes, follow-up, and clear protocol. We do not sell "packages" of treatments to anyone who walks in; we prescribe what your case requires.

For those simply seeking a Kerala Ayurvedic experience without a specific complaint, we run wellness Abhyanga days — but the core of our practice is clinical. If you have a persistent skin, hair, joint, or postnatal condition, that is what we are built to address.
