Anti-Pitta / refrigerant face & body wash group — for thirst, hemoptysis, burning sensations, bilious fevers.

Sushruta Sutra 38: “Sariva, Madhuka, Chandana, Kucandana, Padmaka, Kashmari phala, Madhuka-pushpa and Ushira. … The group allays thirst and proves curative in a case of hemoptysis. Its therapeutic virtue consists in curbing an attack of bilious (Pittaja) fever and in specifically alleviating the burning sensation (Daha) of the body.”

The refrigerant face-wash group. Most of the 8 herbs are also in the Varnya Mahakashaya — Sushruta’s Sarivadi and Charaka’s Varnya overlap heavily. Together they form the structural core of every classical cooling face preparation: face mists, summer face oils, after-sun lepas, and Pitta-pacifying complexion masks.
