Karna Purana = “ear-filling”. Classical practice from Sushruta Cikitsa 24.15: “Pouring oil (Karna-purana) into the cavities of the ears is highly efficacious in pains of the jaws and of the Manya, and acts as a good cure for head-ache and ear-ache.”

Performed weekly, prevents Vata-related jaw, ear, and head disorders. Use medium-warm (not hot) oil.

How to apply Warm oil to body temperature. Lie on side. Drip 3-5 drops into upper ear. Stay 5-10 min. Switch sides. · Weekly for healthy; daily during dry / Vata-aggravating seasons.
