The 'three pungents' — Pippali + Marica + Shunthi in equal parts. Anti-fat & anti-Kapha; appetiser; bio-enhancer; cuts mucous.

The ‘three pungents’: long pepper + black pepper + dry ginger, in equal parts.

For cosmetic use, Trikatu appears as a small percentage in Kapha-pacifying face lepas, scalp packs, and udvartana powders — typically 1-3 % of the formula. Its role is to “open” the channels and enhance absorption of the other actives (the classical Yogavahi function). The modern bio-enhancement equivalent is Piperine (the main alkaloid of Marica).

NOT for direct face application — pungent herbs irritate facial skin. Use only as an internal Rasayana or as a small adjunct in body / scalp formulas.
