Sushruta Cikitsa 20.12: “In a case of Pada-dari, the prescribed vein should be opened, and the affected part should be treated with fomentations and unguents. The affected part should be plastered with an ointment composed of wax, lard, marrow, powder of Sarja resin, clarified butter, Yava-Kshara and Gairika.”

The exact 7-ingredient formula, verbatim. The combination is unusual: animal fats (Vasa + Majja) + plant fat (Goghrita) + beeswax sealer + alkaline activator (Yavakshara) + iron-oxide colorant. For vegan, substitute Vasa→cocoa butter and Majja→shea butter — the saturated-fat profile is similar.

How to apply Melt fats gently (≤ 70 °C). Stir in powders. Pour into tin; solidifies. Apply to cracked heels nightly with cotton socks on top. · Nightly until healed (7-14 days).
Vaidya review required This formulation requires verification by a qualified vaidya before clinical or commercial use — for botanical-identity confirmation, dose calibration, and patient-population safety.
